The Simple Past Tense is formed by adding -ed form to the base form, Ex: worked, helped, played.
Affirmative Statements Negative Statements
We wrote. We did not write.
He wrote. He did not write.
Affirmative Questions Negative Questions
Did we write ? Did we not write ?
Did he write ? Did he not write ?
The Simple Past Tense is used:
i ) To say that an event occurred or that something was the case at a particular time in the Past.
Ex: We saw the circus yesterday.
He died in 1984.
They did not meet any one last week.
I received a letter a week ago.
